I think such a great band deserves re-releases all around the world, because it has many fans either in the underground (i.e. goths) or in the 80's mainstream fans. It also has a very good music that must not depend only upon old fans, but is completely able to create new ones. Old stuff is pretty hard to find and when it is found its price is outrageous. We, who like Poesie Noire, do not want to pay those very high prices for (in the most part of the times) second-hand albums! We want to give the band the respect that we owe to them: to buy their original releases in order to have the best we can from the artists we like! I guess it is enough...

I have a couple of albums on vinyl, but would appreciate the opportunity to get reissues on CD. I doubt Antler will re-release on wax, but as long as the original Pity for the Self exists on vinyl, I'm cool with that. Word to the PN catalog re-release. PN is big in Brazil? That's fantastic.

Poésie Noire; een Belgische groep toen Belgische muziek nog geen goedkoop aftreksel was van de Amerikaanse mainstream-muziek. Een Belgische groep die, toen iedereen op de new wave trein sprong, new wave maakte die zich onderscheidde van de rest. Een unieke mix van electronica, gitaren, man- en vrouwenstem. Een groep waarvan ik niet alleen graag alles zou gerereleased willen zien, maar ook, al was het maar voor één keer, live aan het werk zou willen zien. Elk jaar wordt eind december in Antwerpen een festival georganisserd (Belgian Independant Musicfestival) waarbij oude gloriën zoals Klinik, Snowy Red, Neon Judgement nog eens komen spelen. Voor sommige groepen is dit éénmalig, voor anderen betekent het de re-start van hun carrière (Neon Judgement, Snowy Red,...). Poésie Noire zou een heel mooie naam op de lijst zijn !

I grew up with these pioneers. I have to say they did the best fusion of synth/electro and dance music. While groups like Depeche Mode were very conservative in the 80's Poesie Noire dared go places and bring in other not always "accepted" influences and instruments.
I have fortunately managed to get my hands on some of their albums released on CD but I also want others to get the same opportunity to enjoy and cherish this great music in the highest quality. Tetra I only have on LP and I would give my upper body to get hold of it on CD.
Also I would be very grestful if the fine non-album singles and 12" of the band were released on some kind of compilation. That would be of great kindness to humanity

I have some very nice and rare 12" classic's of these guy's going from (In Sotto Voce) back to (Poesie Noire) and to think of these out of print money makers, hard to get your hands on LP, CD to go back into print would kill my chance of making any money on what I have (Antler 084) one of my most valued in my mind or sevearal others would be a selfish act on Antler/Subway behalf. People want the real thing so they can hold it and show it to there friends (Like a man with a new girlfriend or a new car, DRIVE IT till it falls apart or is rusty and old and get a NEW ONE) but in this case there isn't a new one to get !! Okay, you guys really need to re release Poesie Noire records. The band had a profound effect on my career when I first started making electronic music back in 1993, this deejay in Oklahoma City made me a cassette dub of pity for the self on an old tape because he didnt want me to have a good recording..he made me promise to not play it for anybody, well he was an asshole for not wanting anyone else to have it.I have had the pleasure of turning on several people onto poesie noire, I still have yet to find pity for the self on vinyl...if you rerelease the music, people will buy it!...

Poesie Noire has been a favorite band of mine for years. I used to have a boyfriend that searched for one of their cd's for years. Finally he found a cd in Houston Texas. I didn't understand why he was so ecstatic about finding the cd, but after we broke up and went our ways, I finally understood. I became such a big fan after listening to the cd he had, that I started on a mission of my own to find one of their cd's. Well, it has taken 9 years of searching and finally we found one in Paris, France on ebay. Of course we were willing to pay whatever the cost to win the cd and we finally did. It was the 91 remixes, Tabula Rasa, which is ok, but I'm not really into remixes, I just knew how rare it was so I bought it. Well, I'm very saddened each time I look for Poesie Noire stuff because I can never find it!!!!!!!!!! I want the cd that my x boyfriend had and I'm giving up hope! I thought the name of the cd was "Complicated" but it's been so long that now it seems l
ike the name of it is "Pity for the self", probably because that is my favorite song of theirs. Anyway, I would be so thrilled to find that their albums could be re-released, as I never dreamed this could come to be! I didn't know there were as many fans as there are. Please!!!!!!!!! Know that it would be well worth it to re-release these albums!!! I would buy as many as I could if this were to happen. You have my word.

I have been a fan of Poesie Noire for a short while, about 2 years, and over that time I have tried numerous times to obtain copies of their original recordings to no success. If you were to re-issue these I can assure you there would be many fans willing to purchase them. There is a huge market for their music, especially with the obvious trend of reinvented new wave we are seeing lately. I am in San Antonio Texas, I go to a nightclub that plays Poesie Noire along with many similar artists, their music has reached me and just about everyone that goes to that club would purchase their albums. If there are that many fans in this small section of the small city I live in think about how many fans there really are out there in the world, you would be surprised.

Aí pessoal privilegiado que sabem e curtem Poise Noire. Até onde eu sei é o seguinte : ERA uma banda belga, que infelizmente terminou no final da década de 80. O disco mais famoso é o Tábula Rasa, que com MUITA SORTE você acha o original. Onde ? Aqui em São Paulo, apenas na galeria, que não é a do rock, é na própria rua, porém é a Galeria Presidente, na esquina. Quais lojas ? Provavelmente na Velvet, Zoyd, SoulShadow (que todos vão se apaixonar pelos CDs de lá), onde o Maguila trabalha e é gente finíssima e manja tudo de som, e ainda na Radio Clash, do meu amigo Miltão. A única coisa que posso dizer é que a Antler está deixando de ganhar muito dinheiro não relançando os albums do Poesie Noire. Aqui em são Paulo,os fans chegam a pagar até R$100 (U$50,00) por qualquer cópia "pirata". E quem tem os exemplares originais não os vendem por menos de U$200. O problema é que eles não vendem de jeito nenhum. Só espero que este apelo possa chegar a algum lugar.

Well, I guess there is much I could say about Poesie Noire,
but let me just say it in a few words:
I have been robbed. I lost my of the CDs I owned (about
300-350 of them). It's been hard to accept, but I did.
Until I realized I could not find Poesie Noire CDs. That's
my main problem with that robbery. I lost cameras too and
other valuable items.
But these CDs are what I can't replace. Please, press more
CDs, there are people waiting for them outside. I, for one.

find Poesie Noire through pirate channels. In these days
of on-demand CD printing and small CD runs for low prices,
online ordering to allow better estimation of needed run
prior to printing, etc. it seems absurd that ANY music
should remain "out of stock" and that labels and bands
would rather people on e-bay make money
selling "collectors' items", pirated copies, or just that
the music be given away in MP3 format when there are people
who would like to buy a real, high-quality CD with album
art and the knowledge that the band and label may continue
to be able to make music because of it...

Poesie Noire have been hunting me for a long time Now. From
the first time I heard the relentless and blissful synthetic
and vocal presence of HIROSHIMA, I begged for more. Possibly
the most influential and most complete electrowave (o how I
hate categorizing stuff) bands of the 80's and onwards. Lots
of contemporary electro bands surely owe a lot to Poesie
Noire. They've always blended driving electrobeats with
beautiful dark soundscapes with a black sense of humor.

Depuis l'arrive de la mono culture imposait par les radios
et télés nationales, centaine musique et donc certain groupe
disparaissent des bacs des disquaires.
Poésie Noire n'échappe a la règle. Même si personnellement
je ne souffre pas trop de ce problème car je connais
l'excellence de cette musique "alternative", je plein les
générations qui ne connaissent que les Spice Girl ou IAM,
voir Mano... Les plus chanceux on droit a Madona ( Frozen
est pas mal mais bon..).
Donner le droit d'écouter une musique différente permet
d'ouvrir une façon de penser différente… Vive la différence
et la créativité !

We´re now making copies of the CDs and we think it´s not

the Poésie Noire records, sometimes we found any
expensive burned copy and when by a miracle, we found
an original record, it costs lots of money!!! In this
case, I think that everyone is loosing, cause we buy a
CD by the triple (or more) that it really costs and
Antler/Subway isn't seeing the color of this money and
the rights of the burned copies!!! PLEASE Antler/Subway

I grow more and more angry every time i go out hunting for
the old PN records. It's become a futile strugle. I speek
not only for myself but for many of my friends when i say
something must be done about this situation soon. PN is
growing in popularity with a new generation, but we are
unable to find any albums. I myself have 3rd generation
coppies of a few albums and i know others who can't even
say that much. I know D.J.s that can't play anything but a
handfull of PN songs found on obscure compilations. Please
rerelease the albums. PN is far to good a band to fade away.

Poesie Noire records. Songs like Pity For the Self are
still premium songs in many clubs in the US holding Retro
Rave nights or playing good 80's new wave.
Actually many night-clubs inclube Poesie Noire material on
their compilation, and so far, it's been the only way I have
been able to get their music on CDs.
I am certain that the strong underground following they have
represent a marketbase large enough for profit.
I really hope you will now re-release their music.
